Willy Brandt Presentation and Documentary

04 Dec 2020

The 7th December 2020 will be the 50th Anniversary of Willy Brandt’s ‘Kniefall’ at the Warsaw Ghetto Monument.

To honour the occasion, Das Zentrum's Secretary, Andrew Gaczol, will give a short presentation followed by a documentary on Willy Brandt's life 'Erinnerungen an ein Politikerleben'.

The documentary, directed by Andre Schäfer and produced by Florianfilm, looks at one of Germany's great post-war leaders: Willy Brandt. The charismatic social democrat's life is shown in it's entirety - as refugee from the Nazis, Mayor of West Berlin at the time the Berlin Wall was erected, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize and International Statesman.

The documentary will be in German with English subtitles.
