A 1.1 – Absolute Beginner German

Are you interested in learning German? This beginner course is for absolute beginner students who have no prior knowledge of German and wish to achieve basic language skills for the purposes of communication, study, travel or enjoyment. You will learn how to use everyday expressions and simple sentences to be able to satisfy concrete needs; ask others simple questions and respond to their questions.

TIMES: We will meet for 10 sessions of 90 minutes each, starting on 25 July 2024 at 7:00pm-8:30pm.

We need a minimum of 8 people to be able to run a class. Max number of students per class is 16. For insurance reasons, all students have to become members of “Das Zentrum” to be eligible to join our language classes.

We use Akademie Deutsch series as our main textbooks. Textbooks are not included in the course fee and need to be purchased separately.

COURSE FEES: $300 ($250 for 10 sessions and $50 annual membership fee). Students who are eligible for concessional membership or members who are already financial beyond 31 March 2024 will receive a refund of the applicable amount of the membership fee.

A 2.1: Upper Beginner German

This course is a continuation of the Das Zentrum A1.2/2 class from Term 1 this year and is open to both new and current students.

We cover a wide range of topics, from setting up home, travelling and navigating public transport, health and wellbeing, studying and working in Germany, plans for the future and more. The course covers foundational grammar concepts and vocabulary for level A2. We will be practicing all these concepts both in book based exercises and through role play and active use of German language in the classroom.

We use Akademie Deutsch series as our main textbooks. We will be starting with Chapter 8 in Akademie Deutsch A1+ and then use Akademie Deutsch A2+ as the course progresses. Textbooks are not included in the course fee and need to be purchased separately.

This beginner course is a continuation of the A1.1 course of Term 1. it is designed for beginner students with some knowledge of German and wish to achieve basic language skills for the purposes of communication, study, travel or enjoyment. You will learn how to use everyday expressions and simple sentences to be able to satisfy concrete needs; ask others simple questions and respond to their questions.

TIMES: We will meet for 10 sessions of 90 minutes each, starting on 3 June 2024 at 5.30pm-7:00pm.

We need a minimum of 8 people to be able to run a class. Max number of students per class is 16. For insurance reasons, all students have to become members of “Das Zentrum” to be eligible to join our language classes.

We use Akademie Deutsch series as our main textbooks. Textbooks are not included in the course fee and need to be purchased separately.
