The author and political scientist Dr Marcel Dirsus will be in conversation with will be in conversation with Allan Behm, Director, International & Security Affairs Program at the Australia Institute, on his book How Tyrants Fall: And How Nations Survive.
How Tyrants Fall was recognised as Book of the Year 2024 by the Economist magazine and has been translated into 10 languages.

Do you speak a little bit of German and would like to join a beginner course but not at a total beginner level? Then this could be the course for you!
This continuing beginner course is for new and continuing students. It is designed for students who did the A 1.2/1 course at Das Zentrum in Term 1, or for those who have some beginner knowledge of German and wish to achieve basic language skills for the purposes of communication, study, travel or enjoyment.
You will learn how to talk about a wide range of topics including your family, your job, health and wellbeing, organise restaurant visits and reserve train tickets, and ask for and give directions.
The Level A 1.2 course will start again next week. We need a minimum of 8 students to be able to offer this class. Maximum number is 16 students. We still have some places available in the course, so if you are interested, please find more information here.
