End of Year Picnic in the Park - Nikolaustag! Get a coffee at the markets before joining members in Haig Park for our end of the year celebration. Family and friends welcome! Light catering will be provided and there will be a Kris Kringle gifts swap provided by Das Zentrum. To be more sustainable, we ask you to bring your own plate, cup and cutlery. You may also want to bring a camping chair or a picnic blanket. Please RSVP and we look forward to seeing you to celebrate Saint Nikolaustag!

Join us for the last Kaffeeklatsch of the year! "Kaffeeklatsch" - The German ritual of catching up over coffee and cake (or biscuits) is the perfect occasion to meet, chat and make new friends. Willkommen zum Advent und damit zum letzten Buchklub von 2025! Es sind noch Plätze frei - bitte anmelden! Der Link zum Event ist hier: https://www.daszentrum.org.au/event-details/deutscher-buchklub-german-language-book-club-december-2025 Diesmal ist jede/r eingeladen, eine Weihnachtsgeschichte, Weihnachtsgedicht oder ein Weihnachtsbuch mitzubringen und vorzustellen. Egal ob positiv oder negativ, lustig, ironisch oder besinnlich, der Text sollte nur irgendwie ein Weihnachtsmotiv enthalten! Der Buchklub ist in erster Linie eine soziale Gelegenheit, andere Deutsche und Deutschsprachige in Canberra kennenzulernen und in einer entspannten Atmosphäre über Bücher zu sprechen. Wir können gemeinsam entscheiden, welche Bücher wir lesen wollen! Die Teilnehmerzahl ist  begrenzt auf maximal 12 Mitglieder. Wenn diese Teilnehmerzahl erreicht ist, können Sie sich auf die Warteliste  setzen lassen. Wir kontaktieren Sie dann, wenn ein Platz frei wird.

Our annual AGM will be held on 25 November 2025 from 7:00 PM at the Das Zentrum library. Das Zentrum Members will receive all relevant documents prior to the AGM. All Das Zentrum members are welcome to attend. Members are invited to nominate for a Committee position not only to make an active contribution to the effective functioning of the organisation and to represent the interests of our members, but also to provide a contribution to the wider community. It is important for organisations such as Das Zentrum to have an active, enthusiastic, and well-functioning committee in order to do justice to the goals and objectives as set out in our constitution, and to provide a valuable service to our members.
